The Aerial is placed on a pedestal during
casting. this extra material must be removed.
The Knurled eyes have 4 sprues on the back
side. in most cases they are broken off before
shipping and extra material may remain that
will have to be removed.
As with all resin parts, there will be some additional prep work involved in the construction of your R5 Head. Some of the pieces require a "MOLD SPRUE" or channel for air flow or support of the part as it is cast within a mold box. These are placed as to not effect the final cosmetic appearance of the part but will need to be removed before painting and or assembly to the dome itself. In addition to this are the
mounting screw holes that must be plugged during the casting process. These may need to be drilled and tapped depending on your own mounting solution to your R5 Head. These areas are clearly "dimpled" on the ends of the rod castings.

Using a DREMMEL rotary tool makes quick work of removing extra material from your castings.
The area circled in green is a mold sprue and is used during the casting process. It's only purpose is to support the part in a mold box while
being cast. This will need to be removed using a high speed cutter attachment on DREMMEL tool.
